Celebrate the Season

I saw a card/technique by Nichole Healy and decided to give it a try using Close To My Heart stamps. I have seen a similar card by another CTMH consultant, so it was nice to see that others were inspired by Nichole as well. I used the Glory to God stamp set to create this holiday card and was quite pleased with the results.
I started off by sponging Bamboo ink around all the edges, bringing it towards the center of each layer w/o inking it so it got lighter towards the center. I then sponged Desert Sand ink around the edges only. Next I stamped a variety of word stamps, including the verse Luke 2:14 that comes with the stamp set. I did those in 3rd generation Desert Sand. The wise men & baby Jesus were done in black. I also did some of the stars in 3rd generation Desert Sand ink too, and kept the one in the center 1st generation to stand out. I used a tiny sparkle on the middle star as well, so it would shine brighter than the others. The saying Celebrate the Season was stamped in black also.
I hope this card has inspired you to try this technique as well. It's a great way to Celebrate the Season.

H2H Challenge

This is my first Close To My Heart H2H Challenge! This is a blog created and sponsored by Close To My Heart Independent Consultants. Click here to see the blog/challenge. I hope you visit the blog often to check out all the challenges and beautiful artwork/techniques that my fellow consultants post. Anyone is able to participate, so hopefully you will participate as well!

I used the Backdrop-Charmed stamp set and embossed the Halloween image with black embossing powder and brayered the color on top, using Honey and Sunset ink. I cut out the number 31 on the Cricut and used the silver Glitter Glue over the numbers and popped them up using foam tape. All of this was then layered onto a variety of patterned cardstock from the Mischief Level 2 Paper Pack, including the zip strip that is attached to the top of the patterned cardstock.

*All products are Close To My Heart.

Checking in

Hello! I have not fallen off the face of the earth (yet). It has been a busy month with being back to work and the boys in fall sporting activities. I recently have joined Weight Watchers and have been committing my time to getting healthy! I am hoping to get back into the workshop soon for some creative therapy to clear my mind from this hectic schedule. Don't take me wrong...I'm not complaining about being busy - I'm happy and blessed that I have a family that keeps me busy, but I have neglected my scrapbooking/stamping way too long as of late and I need to get back to it. So in advance, thank you for your patience in waiting for my posts.

Emails were sent out last week for my upcoming card workshop coming up this Sunday, 9/25 and Monday, 9/26. There are still openings on both days (Monday is almost full)...if interested, please let me know and I will give you the details. I had said that I would try to get pictures of samples posted by today, but that is still a work in progress, due to a few last-minute meetings. Keep checking back and I hope to have the samples posted by Friday (fingers are crossed). Thanks for checking in! I appreciate your interest!
