Mojo 318

It's contest week again at Mojo Monday. I struggled with this sketch the whole week, not sure if I was going to attempt it - I wasn't making a connection to the sketch, but last minute I was able to rally. I guess I just needed to get my hands on my supplies to get something to come together. Also, I've always followed the Monday Mojo sketches pretty close to the T...using the same shapes as the sketch, etc. I'm trying to go outside of the box a little and remember that the sketch is just a guide. I've seen some end results on the Mojo blog that barely resemble the sketch at all, but turn out beautifully. I try not to look at other entries before creating mine so I am not influenced. I'm happy that I just sat down and started pulling things out because I was pretty happy with the end result. All supplies are Close To My Heart. See the supply list at the end of this post.

Mojo 302

I am just loving the Mojo sketch this week! I have recently received some new Close To My Heart products from the upcoming 2013 Autumn/Winter Idea Book and it definitely inspired me for this weeks Mojo Monday sketch. I definitely got my "mojo on" when I looked at the sketch and started to assemble the card. I used the new Laughing Lola paper pack, with coordinating cardstock and used one of the new Hostess Rewards* stamp sets, called The Party is On. I love the trendy chalkboard look to it. It paired really well with the black accents I used on the card. I stamped the Celebrate Today image in Twilight Pigment Ink and then outlined it in a white gel pen to make it really pop (my photography doesn't do it justice, trust me...it looks much better in person). I used black glitter paper to mat the saying and then used the coordinating shimmer trim as ribbon towards the bottom. I used the glitter paper on the Cricut, along with the Artiste cartridge to make the bow and topped it off with a purple gem. I would have loved if the purple & gold cheetah-print bauble from the Laughing Lola accessories would have fit in the middle, but unfortunately it was a little too large for this bow.

 

The inside needed some bling too...I used a zip strip from the Laughing Lola pack and some more black shimmer trim on the side.

Mojo 300 - It's a SWEET LIFE

I had to play along with this week's Mojo Monday - It's their 300th sketch! I wanted to highlight Close to my Heart's Stamp of the Month, Sweet Life. I paired the peach image/saying (no pun intended) along with the Buzz and Bumble paper pack (now retired), but I stamped half the saying on the square "You're a..." and then finished the saying "peach" on the little banner peaking out from one of the peaches. This stamp set is so versatile and has so many uses, especially this time of year.
